BHC's new video "The Great Fire of 1871 in the Belgian Settlements of Northeast Wisconsin" is available for viewing at BHC.  The video explains the causes of the fire, the impact on the Belgians, and the transformation of their communities that occurred through rebuilding. You can see it during our regular hours or to schedule a viewing,call 920-825-7319 or email contact@belgianheritagecenter.org.

New Great Fire Books Available at BHC

New Great Fire Books Available at BHC

Two new books are now available at BHC. The Brown County Historical Society just released "The Great Fires in Wisconsin of 1871", a reprint of eye witness accounts of the fire reported by Frank Tilton in 1871 plus two modern day analyses of the fire.  "When the Night Rained Fire", a new book by Virginia Feld Johnson, covers the fire and its aftermath in Kewaunee County. Books are available by visiting BHC or the Merchandise page of this website.
